Committees
Pension Committee
This committee is under the Transportation District 140 jurisdiction. The Local Lodge pension representative is responsible for investigating different retirement benefit applications that require further evaluation. This committee also ensure that the pension fund is administered to the best interest of the membership.
Bylaws committee
This committee is in charge of evaluating the Local Lodge Bylaw change proposals. Following assessment, members of the committee present their report at the monthly meeting before holding the vote for the amendment of the bylaw.
Human rights
This committee is there to listen and inform members with human rights concerns related to discrimination or to the Canadian Human Rights Act; race, religion, sex, nationality or Ethnic origin, civil status, family status, colour of skin, age, disability, sentence leading to rehabilitation. Toxic work environment is also a concern introduced by Air Canada.
Women’s committee
This committee gives women the possibility to exchange problems related to women’s jobs in work places.
Retirees
This committee is there to inform retirees having concerns about their pension plan, for example; travel insurance, medication, pension benefits, etc. This committee also keeps an update of the different social meetings organized for retirees.
