As you all know, your Union is currently negotiating with Air Canada and Aveos. Negotiation periods are difficult for workers, during which the employer is using every means possible to separate the Union members and create confusion about their intentions, their financial position or future projects. Subcontracting is a good example. Their primary purpose is to affect the structure of our association, on the floor as well as at the higher levels of the Union. (...)During the CCAA process in 2003, the removal of pass travel service charges and equal treatment between Jazz and Air Canada employees was just one of the sacrifices employees made in order to keep their respective companies viable. Until we see the restoration of all the concessions that were inflicted upon us, there should be no changes to either group’s policies. To do otherwise would be a serious betrayal of the goodwill we gave management during CCAA. (More...)
