As previously mentionedin the last newsletter, October 5th, we obtained a private interview with several members of parliament including:

We had the opportunity to express our concerns in details. The members of parliament were very receptive.

 

Chris Charlton (NPD / NDP), Thomas Mulcair (NPD / NDP)

The NDP has agreed to submit a question on our behalf at the House of commons. We were also invited to attend the questions period.

Mr. Mulcair criticized the minister of Finance, Jim Flaherty for not enforcing the Air Canada publi participation act. He also mentioned that by doing so, he's facing the fact that thousands of jobs are in jeopardy and threatened to be sent in ElSalvador.

Luc Desnoyers and Michel Guimond havemet us in the afternoon after the question period and they have assured us of their support. New developments are expected in the coming days.

 

Later in the afternoon, we met with Mr. John McCallum. He agreed to meet with two other opposition parties to discuss the Air Canada Act.

CIRB

Air Canada and Aveos lawyers have agreed that the deadline of October 19th could not be observed because the decision occurred yesterday to discuss the concept of "common employer".

The parties mutually agreed to meet again on 22, 23 and 29 November. Which is giving us more time to prepare.
