Education
The Local Lodge offers training for shop stewards and members of different committees.
Other courses
Members sitting on different committees are given training every year through courses offered by the QFL, the QMC and other certified training establishments. Some members also attend conferences and conventions; women’s conference, communications, human rights, etc. Members who wish to attend training classes should send their request to the president of the Local Lodge. Members returning from conventions are asked to present a report at the following monthly meeting.

The William Winpisinger Education Center in Placid Harbor Maryland is the property of the IAMAW. Educational facility is available for officers of Local Lodges and Districts.
Leadership I, II and advanced courses are available each year for officers of Local Lodges. A variety of other courses are also available; meeting rules and procedures, collective bargaining, communication, recruitment and others. Attending classes in Placid Harbor is a good opportunity for members across America to exchange on their respective union organization.
Members interested in attending Leadership courses must send their request to the President prior to January 1st.

IAM scholarship awards
The scholarship competition is open each year to members of the IAM and their children. Recipients are determined in a competition among eligible applicants that is judged by a special Selection Committee. Brochures of information are sent to Local Lodges.
